Criminal Investigations Division

Members of the Sheriff’s Office are tasked assigned as Detectives to the Criminal Investigations Division (CID). CID is made up of a four person division that includes a Supervisor that holds the rank of Detective Sergeant.

 

CID is responsible for investigating major crimes including robberies, sexual assaults, burglaries, narcotics violations, aggravated assaults, identity theft and other serious criminal violations of state and federal Law.

 

CID members have specialized training that include evidence collection and preservation, crime scene processing, computer forensics, interview and interrogation techniques and domestic violence follow up.

 

CID members are responsible for registering Sex Offenders who reside in York County that are posted on the State of Maine Sex Offender Registry.
